Prayer is talking,
Whilst walking with God.
Prayer is asking,
With life’s tasking being shed.
Prayer is understanding,
The Lord God’s every commanding.
Prayer is safekeeping,
The Lord God our seeking.
Prayer is calling,
Upon the Spirit from above arriving.
Prayer is learning,
How daily to love.
Prayer is nourishment,
At the †of Jesus’ punishment.
Prayer is seeing this punishment not on us,
Mercifully avoiding us, thanks to Jesus.
Prayer is repentance,
Sorrow for our sinfulness.
Prayer is replenishment,
All forgiveness is in Jesus.
Prayer is supplication,
Asking of our Father.
Prayer is an application,
Pleading for life’s good order.
Prayer is petition
Being told to ask.
Prayer is trouble’s intermission,
Sharing life’s task.
Prayer is thanking,
Love ever pleasing.
Prayer is exploring,
God’s goodness found to be amazing.
Prayer is praising,
In attentive awe.
Prayer is admiring,
So much to offer thanks for.
Prayer is admiration,
For the power of love.
Prayer is adoration,
Offered to heaven above.
Prayer is in addition,
Offering to God our permission!
Prayer is being in conversation,
We have too, to listen with concentration.
Prayer is God speaking,
His seeking of us.
Prayer is the outcome,
Of the victory won by God’s Son on the †.
Prayer is graced time,
Love’s victory so fine.
Prayer is basically,
Life led spiritually.
Prayer’s tone and task,
Is shaped as you ask.
Prayer offered to worship,
Ever exciting through Jesus’ Lordship.
Prayer is as the Spirit leads,
Praises as He intercedes.
Prayer is daily communication,
Life and mercy’s veneration.
Prayer is life’s essence,
As love is God’s presence.
Prayer is love seeing
Fervently flooding Your being.
Prayer is the Trinity with us addressing,
Praise God for prayer, His every blessing.
Lord, thank You for showing us how vital prayer is. May Your Spirit ever pray in us, with us and through us as He devotes our life to the Lord Jesus. Amen.
